Kennedy Center Tour Dec 2006

December 9, 2006

Here we go again. I have been working so hard I was exhausted. I think I slept so much I was tired from the extra rest. LOL. I definately had to do something about that! I have been in the area for a few months and have slowly been getting out to see all that the city has to offer. Today, was going to a new adventure and I could not wait. I wanted to do something fun, but Free. There is SOOOOO much free stuff to do in the city and I want to do it all. After checking the Washington Post ity Guide I found that there are FREE tours of the John F. Kennedy Cemter for the Performaing Arts. It was absolutely fabulous.

African Wood Carving in one of the Reception Rooms. Absolutely Beautiful!

Mural in a different reception area...

Ivory Statue outside of the Presidents Suite.

The ONLY piece of art that you CAN touch! LOL..... It is actually a piece that was made to be outside. Since the weather would actually help preserve it and it is inside, by allowing visitors to touch it, the natural oils from your hand weather and condition the piece on the inside.

African Wood Carving and Tapestry in the African Reception Room

Another African Tapestry from the same room........

NBMBAA Raleigh-Durham Holiday Social and Networking Event
This year I planned the event and it was held at the Ezra Conference Center http://ezracenter.com/ . This is a Black owned establishment with first class service. The event was really nice.

We had several vendors attend, but the most memorable one by far was Victoria's Sweets. If you are ever in the mood for some tasty treats in the Raleigh-Durham Area, please check this place out!!! The Owner is a Grad School Classmate of Mine (Meredith MBA.) They can be found online at www.victoriashomemade.com Thanks GB and LaShana!!!

Their TWO locations in the Triangle can be found at:
